K K Ranch Barn & Lesson Program Policy
Liability and Cancellation Agreement:
Prior to the first lesson, riders must sign a Waiver of Liability and disclose any medical or physical conditions that might be relevant to their performance. Riders under the age of 18 must sign and have a legal guardian sign the rider’s Waiver of Liability. At this time the signer will also be asked to sign a Cancellation Agreement in which is stated below.
Cancellation Agreement:
A 24 hour notice is needed when canceling a lesson. In the event that a lesson is canceled in less than 24 hours notice, the full lesson fee is owed. We recognize that true emergency situations due to illness or accident sometimes occur. Should you have an emergency situation due to illness or accident, please note to call your trainer immediately. Make up lessons or credits due to emergencies may be given at your trainer’s discretion. If a student misses 2 scheduled lessons in a row without advance notice, the student is subject to be removed from the lesson program schedule.
Dress Code:
All riders are required to wear the proper attire and abide by our Dress Code:
1. Tall Boots or Paddock Boots with Half Chaps or Full Chaps
2. Riding Breeches, Riding Tights, or Jodhpur Pants
3. Collered Shirt with Short or Long Sleeves
4. Approved Riding Helmet
5. Riding Gloves
Payment of Lesson Fees:
Payment is due upon services rendered. Payment is expected before the student mounts the horse. Cash or personal check is considered acceptable payment. A $20 handling fee will be charged for any returned checks. Although you may have reserved a semi-private lesson slot, we can not always guarantee the attendance of the other student(s). If a private lesson is taught, the fee due is the same as a private lesson.
Lesson Times:
Please plan to arrive properly dressed and on time. Lessons are often booked back-to-back, so late starts impact the late student as they have a scheduled start and end time. In the event of a semi private lesson, students arriving late may not be permitted to join the lesson already in progress, and no refunds will be made. Lessons are considered ongoing unless you have contacted your trainer and it is understood otherwise.
Confirming Lessons, Rescheduling, Cancellation Notice, and No Shows:
If you miss two lessons in a row you are subject to lose your scheduled time slot no matter how long it has been named “yours”. To cancel or reschedule your lesson, the instructor should be contacted at least 24 hours in advance of lesson time. If a repeated occurrence of cancellation or “no show” occurs, student is subject to pay a $20 rescheduling fee on top of regular lesson due at the time of the rescheduled lesson. Full price will be charged for any lesson missed without notifying the instructor in advance (no shows).
